This gem surfaces soon
We have it ready, but it is not unsealed yet. Come back when it opens.

You are given no weapon, only a lighter that shows you the dark. The corridor rebuilds itself every session, and a Noh mask is already listening for you.
A first-person, combat-free 3D horror escape game developed and self-published by the solo Japanese developer Space Onigiri Game LLC, led by Kazuki Shiroma. At summer dusk you wander into the procedurally generated corridors of a traditional Japanese building, carrying only a Zippo lighter as your one light source, plus whatever firecrackers, hand mirrors, and other items you scavenge along the way, looking for your own way out. Per Steam's own store text, the corridors 'change with every playthrough' and there is 'no one set route to take,' so surviving means reading the room with whatever you are holding, learning the habits of the several distinct Noh-mask apparitions that hunt you by sight and by sound, and finding a different way to slip past each of them. It began as a free Japanese indie horror game Shiroma made under the handle Kagetsu (花月), a release that went out for free on the platform Freem in June 2017 and was awarded Gold in the Horror category at Freem's 13th game contest; this Steam release is his own ground-up commercial remake of that same free game, carrying, per its own listing, a new story and 'more than ten times' the original's content. It is Very Positive at 90 percent over 2,176 reviews, and while Western outlets including WayTooManyGames and Real Otaku Gamer have already reviewed it, only about 3.35 percent of those reviews are in English so far.

01First, the one feeling
- Your only light source is a single lighter, and Steam's own text is explicit that the corridor changes shape every session, so the same flick of the wheel that lets you see where you are going is also what a nearby Noh mask can see coming; player accounts describe deliberately snapping it shut and finishing the last few steps blind, because being unseen matters more than being able to see.
- There is no fighting anything. What you are given instead is a fistful of counter-play: firecrackers you can throw to lure a wandering mask away from your real path, a teleport mirror to warp yourself somewhere else, a stamina leaf to outlast a chase you should not have started, so the entire game becomes reading which single item you are willing to spend on the one Magatama stone you can still see glowing down the hall.
- A death only sends you back to a checkpoint on the same map with your held items intact, so the game itself is not that harsh, but quitting the run at all regenerates the whole layout from nothing, so every session becomes its own sealed bet: however many Magatama and secrets you have already found only count for anything if you see this particular maze through to the end.
02Who this is for (and who it is not)
For you
- You want a first-person Japanese horror built entirely around evasion, not combat: read a single lighter's light against the position of whatever Noh-mask apparition is hunting you, and slip past it with firecrackers, a teleport mirror, or nothing but nerve
- You want real stakes behind a randomly generated maze: the layout regenerates whenever you quit, so hunting down every glowing Magatama and secret in a run means committing to seeing that specific maze through, not saving it for later
- You want to catch a solo Japanese developer's own commercial remake of his free breakout hit before the West does: Very Positive at 90 percent over 2,176 reviews, already reviewed by WayTooManyGames and Real Otaku Gamer, yet still read almost entirely in Japanese
Not for you
- You want a horror game with a map or mini-map to lean on; per player reviews there is neither, so a randomly generated layout with dead ends you cannot predict is part of the design, not an oversight, and it is a paid, fully launched title at $7.99 (¥820 in Japan), not free and not in Early Access, with no AI-generated assets and nothing sexual by Steam's own descriptors
- You want full voice acting in your own language; only Japanese is fully voiced, with English, Korean, Russian, and Simplified Chinese offered as text only, and with just 73 of 2,176 reviews in English so far, this is still overwhelmingly a Japanese-language conversation

Shadow Corridor Buried gem
A first-person, combat-free 3D horror escape game: at summer dusk you wander into an ancient, labyrinthine mansion of bamboo and tatami, and must scour its procedurally generated halls for glowing Magatama stones to unlock the door out, carrying only a lighter as your one light source (extinguishing it helps you go undetected, but leaves you blind) plus whatever active items, firecrackers, a teleport mirror, and passive ones, like a stamina leaf, you scavenge along the way, while several distinct kinds of Noh-mask apparition, each with its own detection patterns, hunt you by sight and by sound and must be read and slipped past rather than fought. Developed and self-published by the solo Japanese developer Space Onigiri Game LLC, led by Kazuki Shiroma, who began posting early development footage under the handle Kagetsu (花月) in 2016. Per player reviews, dying restarts you at a checkpoint on the same generated map with your held items intact, but any reusable markers you had already placed stay wherever you dropped them, and quitting the run outright regenerates the whole map and sends the next level back to zero items, a real risk some reviews flag directly. Beyond that first corridor, further stages carry the story onward across multiple difficulty levels, with a bonus area unlocked only through what one reviewer called an 'ironman-esque' challenge. This is a ground-up commercial expansion of what began as a free Japanese indie demo: Steam's own listing describes the finished release as carrying 'more than ten times' that original's content, on top of a new story and additional mechanics. Released March 8, 2019, it is Very Positive at 90 percent over 2,176 reviews (1,969 positive per Steam's own review API), a paid title at $7.99 in the US (¥820 in Japan), not free, fully launched and not in Early Access, with no AI-generated assets and, per Steam's own content descriptors, nothing sexual (ids: none, notes: none). It is voiced entirely in Japanese, with English, Korean, Russian, and Simplified Chinese available as text. Western outlets including WayTooManyGames (Final Verdict: 4.5) and Real Otaku Gamer have already reviewed it, and Metacritic hosts further critic reviews of its console ports from GameGrin, Video Chums, and Pure Nintendo, yet only about 73 of its 2,176 reviews, roughly 3.35 percent, are in English so far, so this overwhelmingly positive reception still reads almost entirely in Japanese.
Give it your first passKageroh: Shadow Corridor The free original
The free original this grew from: 影廊 -Shadow Corridor- (Kageroh: Shadow Corridor), released for free on the Japanese freeware platform Freem, with a release date of June 21, 2017. Its creator, Kazuki Shiroma, first posted footage of a Western-styled horror project on Niconico Douga in February 2016 under the handle Kagetsu (花月), then reworked it into a Japanese-styled one that April; the finished free game went on to win the Gold Award in the Horror category at Freem's 13th game contest. It already carried this taste's core DNA: creeping through a traditional Japanese building by whatever light you carry, evading rather than fighting the Noh-mask apparitions that stalk its halls. Shadow Corridor on Steam is Shiroma's own ground-up commercial remake of this same free game, not a new work borrowing its DNA from the outside; per Steam's own listing, it keeps that original loop while adding a new story, new mechanics, and, in Steam's own words, 'more than ten times' the content of what shipped for free in 2017.
