Uncut
Curated by taste and lineage

Don't beat them. Take what they carry.

A turn-based SRPG where the goal is not only to defeat a unit but to capture them and strip the weapon in their hand. Over 50 allies, support talks, class change, weapon fusion, difficulty from Casual to Abyss across 50-plus chapters. A solo work by the Japanese developer Oborotsubame, in the lineage of the SRPG that invented capture, Fire Emblem: Thracia 776. It already plays in English, yet the West has barely found it.

01First, the one feeling

02Who this is for (and who it is not)

For you

  • You love Fire Emblem and especially the Thracia 776 capture you could steal a unit and their gear
  • You want a deep solo SRPG: 50-plus allies, class change, weapon fusion, 50-plus chapters
  • You want a gem the West has not found yet, even though it already plays in English

Not for you

  • You want a short, breezy tactics game, not a 70-hour campaign with Abyss-tier difficulty
  • You want big-studio polish and a marketing machine over a solo developer's labor of love

Hangyaku no Shugosha Buried gem

A turn-based SRPG built around a capture system: you seize enemy weapons mid-battle and grow an armory of what you take. Over 50 recruitable allies, support conversations, class change, weapon fusion, and difficulty tiers from Casual to Abyss, across 50-plus chapters and 70-plus hours. Made solo by the Japanese developer Oborotsubame. Very Positive in Japan at 60 reviews and 93 percent, yet the West has barely found it: just one English review.

Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 The origin

The origin of capture in tactical RPGs: in 1999, Nintendo and Intelligent Systems let you take a unit prisoner mid-battle and strip the weapons they carried, turning a turn into a calculated heist. No official Steam release. This gem is a direct heir to that capture, declared by its creator as a Fire Emblem fan, and grows it into a whole armory you build from what you steal.
